Our CEO, Emily Tucker was recently featured by Women In Technology Campaign. The campaign exists to help redefine what women in technology means in the 21st century. Started independently by a group of professional women who, after many impassioned discussions about women in tech knew they wanted to expand this definition beyond ‘traditional’ technology skills. To them, it includes most every current, emerging or evolving role within an organization. By featuring leaders and emerging leaders across industries who embody this, the Campaign hopes to collectively ‘stand up’, be proud of women in the digital world and inspire young women or those new to the ‘tech space’ to get involved.
Why? Times are continuing to change but women are still under-represented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, women remain significantly underrepresented in engineering and computer occupations for instance, which make up more than 80 percent of all STEM employment.
