TaroWorks is seeking a highly motivated, season marketing professional to drive its outreach and amplification globally. The Marketing and Communications Manager will organize, create, and publish TaroWorks content and communications.

The ideal candidate is creative, high-energy, flexible, and comfortable working in small business environments, and is able to deliver on initiatives and has an eye toward lead generation. Candidates must be comfortable communicating with all levels of decision-makers within organizations, including C-level executives, small social entrepreneurs and field managers.

This position can either be based in Nairobi, Mexico City, or Washington, D.C. and reports to the Chief Operating Officer of TaroWorks based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Manager will have overall responsibility for marketing strategy, defining the marketing mix, and executing on marketing and communications tasks. The position will have responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Marketing Strategy and Management

  • Maintain marketing event and editorial calendar (blog posts, content delivery deadlines, proposed publishing dates) and manage teammembers and contractors for deliverables
  • Report on marketing outcomes and effectiveness on a regular basis (e.g. quarterly reviews), including website traffic, SEO results, and inbound leads.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for improvements and initiatives to increase lead generation

Content Marketing and Webinars

  • Come up with ideas for marketing webinars, and executing them, including scheduling, coordinating all participants and their roles, and
  • Select topics for and then research and write blog posts each month, for the TaroWorks website or guest blog post.
  • Promote content on TaroWorks Website, social media, emails, or external blogs or other online publications
  • Maintain relationships and network of publishing outlets
  • Optimize published content for Google search engines

Lead Generation and Qualification in Pardot

  • Manage Pardot to qualify and score inbound leads and lead assignments
  • Build email templates and send newsletters and other communications out as needed, for content, announcements, and other notifications.
  • Create and monitor the effectiveness of drip campaigns

Website Maintenance, Search Engine Optimization, and Lead Conversion

  • Optimize published content and website landing pages for search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Manage link-building with the goal of obtaining inbound links to TaroWorks’ website from social media influencers, bloggers, directory websites and online discussion forums
  • Conduct A/B testing to improve website conversion rates
  • Make basic updates to the website on WordPress

Social Media

  • Maintain social media accounts, including Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, marketing, or journalism
  • A minimum of 5 years marketing experience with proven track record in business-to-business marketing, and lead generation.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills in English
  • Experience with writing blog articles
  • Marketing analytics skills, including analyzing Google Analytics, A/B testing, and SEO results
  • Ability to manage projects and deadlines without significant direct supervision
  • Comfortable presenting to a wide variety of audiences including executive leaders
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • Pardot and WordPress experience preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and passion for our mission and work
