TaroWorks is seeking a highly-motivated, and independent sales consultant to work with great clients. The Sales Consultant will be responsible for identifying customer prospects, and closing SaaS and professional services agreements and will be paid on a commission basis. The Sales Consultant will be responsible for sales and business development for clients located in the Americas time zones, including North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Responsibilities

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for business development activities including:

  • Develop pipeline of qualified prospects in support of meeting or exceeding annual earned revenue target. Lead all new selling and revenue opportunities in the Americas, from prospecting and sales planning to contract execution.
  • Maintain relationships with prospects by providing information, support, and guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Drive consultative sales: be able to understand the issues the customer is trying to solve, and then recommend and map how TaroWorks can address those issues.
  • Remain abreast of key industry trends and be aware of all competitive forces in the marketplace, sharing any relevant information with management on a regular basis
  • Work with other key TaroWorks teams and leverage key TaroWorks resources through the sales cycle to move and convert prospects into contracted and paying TaroWorks customers
  • Identify product and professional services improvements by channeling customer feedback and insights to key teams within TaroWorks
  • Represent TaroWorks in relevant industry, trade or community events to build brand awareness for the product

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal Sales Consultant candidate is creative, a problem-solver, flexible, comfortable working in start-up environments and keeps a focus on meeting and exceeding sales goals. Candidates must be comfortable communicating with all level of decision makers within the organization, including c-level executives, IT managers, and field managers. The candidate should have an opportunistic eye toward generating leads based on the identified target market, an ability to dig into underlying issues clients are facing, the skills to consult clients about appropriate solutions, and to close contracts.

Most sales and customer success activities will be performed by phone, email, and Skype but will occasionally require in-person meetings. This position reports to the Business Development Lead located in Nairobi, Kenya.

Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven aptitude in system thinking and problem solving.
  • Proven project management skills, including an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Great communication skills, including via email, phone, and Skype.
  • Ability to effectively manage and communicate priorities, expectations, risks, and concerns to customer and team members.
  • Strong technical background, with preference given to online software (SaaS) products. Experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
  • Ability to develop and articulate ROI measurement.
  • Ability to drive results while working independently and remotely.

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Business, Economics, Statistics, Computing)

  • 3-5 years of experience in enterprise sales or managing customer relationships and/or projects
  • Experience with B2B clients
  • Fluent in English, Spanish preferred

Availability

The Sales Consultant will be expected to work a standard work week of 40 hours, and will be required to take team meetings in the evenings or early mornings. The position may require domestic and international travel of up to 10%.
